I am one winged creature who ceased to flutter in the beauty of the wind. Whose colors so magnificent faded into the blackness around. Whose head is bent down, defeated from the harshness of nature.  I was blind to the beauty of the world and deaf to magic of music.

 $4.95 for classic, classy loose-fitting, pleated metallic top? this is why I am loving H&M most times.   The color is regal and electric, it's great for spring! The material drapes nicely and this piece is so versatile - it pairs well with various bottoms! Ecstatic on this purhase and excited to play with it for my upcoming shoot!

At size S, I have to do some shoulder strap alteration as the straps are falling. Watch how I do it on my next entry ;)

Spring, Remembering Subic Bay and Mother's Day

Life is most beautiful in the north east in spring, my two cents worth. On a glorious day like today in New York city,  God's hands are undeniably at work.  The greatest accessory seem to be the picturesque greens, flowers- bursting in colors... and life itself. This weather reminded me of Subic Bay in the Philippines - a place dear to my heart, as it has been my refuge from the anarchic life in Manila. I love the ocean, as I wrote here some  long years ago...

Hail to you blue ocean!
Let me lay in your waters,
permit thy waves to romance my wholeness.

and let my eyes feast on
the bursting hues of life down under!

P.S.
As I remember my mother today , I can vividly smell the clean, crisp clothes washed by her loving hands. She  is a seamstress - who made beautiful dresses for me as I was growing up,  who did my sewing projects in school - and seamed my whole life- ever so kindly, lovingly and patiently. Like a fabric i was- which she patterned, cut and pieced together to its wholeness.

I am grateful that I am my mother's child,  and her dresses will always be what i have worn- with most pride and joy. 

My journey towards petite for less

Petite, small one, tiny, mini, short, little- are names I have been called.

I was not so proud of being all of these names. I felt less than because I was not 'height acceptable' to society. More so, the inner me shrank with it.

I could care less if I looked drab, no one will notice anyway- as I am almost 'invisible' due to my double zero frame.

Then one dark day in New York City, I was deeply pensive and decided to be as beautiful as one can be, inside and out.

Thus began my journey towards this blog.

It took so many years for me to discover that I have to love, embrace and celebrate this whole 5'1" of myself from head to toe - because I am special, precious and significant.

Come and join me in my journey as I seek fashion for less that compliment petite frames.

This blog celebrates petite women all over the world who dare to be beautiful, bold and significant through inner growth and outer fashion.

Hopefully and most importantly, it will carry on with a realization that height truly comes from within.

Sleveless Top, Braces, No Makeup... Younger Years and a Bestfriend...

In a rare moment so many years ago, Princell came home from Rome to visit Manila.

I remember us driving to Subic Bay on a hot summer day sporting tank tops and short shorts-  with blasting music, laughter, sensible and senseless chatter - just us... one treasured memory of great friendship- a rare find.  I remember us glamming up and dancing the night away wherever we went (and dismissed all the boys who intruded our 'moment'). I remember so fondly how she called me the dancing queen and that with my stamina on the dance floor, I beat her ;)

Princell, just about my height is a head turner. I miss her stark white nursing uniform. Mostly, she was a great fashion influence to me- she is the all time 'jeans girl' who rocks the street like a runway! She always reminded me that one has to be confident before she becomes beautiful...

Yellow and maybe a better day... tomorrow.

What a very dark day in New York City today....  where are you my spring?

In remembrance of one sunny, yet bit chilly spring day, I am posting this picture taken several weeks ago. I bravely wore this ASOS yellow dress (which sans the sun shining-would be a mute point - as the sun's rays complimented the scene just perfectly) *(Ugo, am posting one of your fav pics ;)

Oh, yellow- such as scary and bold color... to wear.

Just doing it...

Just do it.... so I shrugged my thoughts and am pushing forward with this blog.  As the past days were dragging me to continue on...  I realized my goal was beyond myself (has to be) -to help and inspire women look good and feel good. For life is beautiful and it starts from within...that clothes are transformational (so as make up and accessories) - and when one looks good.. one feels good.

Although this blog is all about finding fashion for less, I may contradict myself by saying  some days my Chanel classic flap bag (paid second hand price from a dear friend)  changed my whole perspective , I can't dress like a drag wearing this Chanel bag.. right?  No, and I can't look unsuccessful  with it right?   So it carried my confidence as well...

It may be this bag for me some days and it can be anything for you- for me, it just may be my new H&M white top for $9.95 ;)

Florals and Leggings

As the temperature the past few weeks in New York City was around 60 to 70 degrees (glorious!) - I decided to wear this floral top from Olive Olivia *(old and bought at Variazoni - tip--they have good items on Sale, specially season clearance)* with a faux leather leggings from H & M. The loose floral top draped just right at the back, and the tight leggings lengthened my legs. I suggest wearing loose tops to complement tight leggings and wearing heels to top off this glam look!

Origami Dress- Red & my Spring Fever!

As New York City keeps me restless and breathless, I thought I needed a dose of red for energy and strength!  I think I had SAD (seasonal affective disorder- experiencing lows during the past winter months ;) Spring fever is here, and I have to have it!

This dress started off my spring bug- as I enoyed the beautiful weather in the city that never sleeps. (It truly doesnt, and it doesnt give me sleep either- there is so much to do, so little time...)

I like the shoulder origami pleat design to the chest and shoulders, puffed cap sleeves, and panelled detailing to the waist.  Definitely a twist in the small red dress category!

This dress has a  body-conscious fit and mini cut length- just what I desire being thin and petite!

Spring dreams...  

As my winter this year is one of the hardest of all (despite the unusual warm temperatures and almost snowless season in the North East), I am anxious for spring to usher me into a season of colors- of rebirth, renewal and regrowth!
