As New York City keeps me restless and breathless, I thought I needed a dose of red for energy and strength!  I think I had SAD (seasonal affective disorder- experiencing lows during the past winter months ;) Spring fever is here, and I have to have it!

This dress started off my spring bug- as I enoyed the beautiful weather in the city that never sleeps. (It truly doesnt, and it doesnt give me sleep either- there is so much to do, so little time...)

I like the shoulder origami pleat design to the chest and shoulders, puffed cap sleeves, and panelled detailing to the waist.  Definitely a twist in the small red dress category!

This dress has a  body-conscious fit and mini cut length- just what I desire being thin and petite!

As my winter this year is one of the hardest of all (despite the unusual warm temperatures and almost snowless season in the North East), I am anxious for spring to usher me into a season of colors- of rebirth, renewal and regrowth!

This pop out blue playsuit from Asos is one of my spring picks! I love the color, the fabric and the playful  ruffled shoulder detail! As I am always on the go, I love one piece outfits and this one, is a slip and go kind- and look glam!

Liven up a Simple Black Dress!

For a total of total $24.95 ($4.99-H&M Brooch + $9.95-Scarf + $9.95-H&M Leather Belt) I made this simple black flare dress from Zara look exciting!

The large square 'designer looking' (as my officemate described it) is gorgeous! The pattern is elegant and I made a simple french knot (on my neck) Here is how to do this knot:

Step 1: Spread large square scarf on a flat surface in the shape of a diamond.

Step 2: Bring bottom point toward top point, placing it a little above the middle of the scarf.

Step 3: Fold the scarf again, this time bringing the top point down to the straight, closed end of the scarf.

Step 4: Fold the bottom edge over so that it is now directly in line with the scarf points on the left and right.

Step 5: Fold the top edge down to the newly-formed bottom edge.

Step 6: Fold the entire scarf again, lengthwise.

Step 7: Hold the scarf against the front of your neck.

Step 8: Wrap the scarf around your neck, looping at the back. Keep the sections adjacent to one another, not on top.

Step 9: Bring the ends back to the front and knot.

Step 10: Rotate the scarf gently until the knot is at the side of your neck.

Step 11: Secure with another knot.

The brooch is elegant looking and can spice up any plain colored dress or tops! Simple to glam for $4.95, how sweet is that?

The thin plain black belt gave me a more defined waist, also gave the dress a visual break from the tight top to the flare bottom!

I jazzed up this sleeveless, fitted jersey  H&M metallic dress (out of stock, I suggest this basic H&M dress above) with the Talbots Kate fit velveteen jacket (NOW ON SALE!)  and an H&M brooch to add detail!  The Talbots Kate Fit jackets in Petite sizes sit close to the body- contouring the shoulders, bust and arms and defining the waist- to compliment the petite frame!  The metallic brown brooch from H&M (sweetly priced at $5.99) gives contrast to the blacks and adds a sophisticated detail to the look!
